AIMing for a Sustainable
Future for All
At AIMS, we believe that sustainable progress begins with conscious intention. The AIMS Centre for Sustainability (ACS), established in 2015, equips students with the mindset, skills, and exposure needed to align their ambitions with the planet’s future. Through structured learning and applied action, ACS enables students to build the foundations of a student-centric sustainable college campus in Bangalore.
Our approach combines academic learning with hands-on understanding, so that sustainability is not only taught, but lived. As students prepare to contribute to society, they are introduced to environmental issues, real-world models, and emerging technologies. The goal is to foster active participation in shaping a more resilient world, starting with campus, and extending to community and career.

Our Goals
At ACS, we aim to:
- Study best practices adopted by civic bodies, academic institutions, industries, and communities, and adapt them into practical, sustainable development programs for college students
- Partner with industries to design new corporate social responsibility models for sustainable development, enabling collaborative projects and knowledge exchange between industry and academia in India
- Co-create solutions with manufacturers of water-saving technologies, solid waste processing equipment, renewable energy systems, and greenhouse gas emission reduction research in Bangalore, aiming to address environmental challenges at both micro and macro scales
- Actively contribute to sustainable development research collaborations with universities and public agencies by engaging in applied research and outreach to enhance environmental sustainability education in Bangalore
Our Objectives
ACS works to:
- Facilitate industry-academia collaboration for sustainability in Bangalore, sharing global best practices in clean energy, water use, waste management, and carbon mitigation
- Foster excellence in sustainability by connecting students, faculty, policymakers, and communities through progressive academic initiatives and civic partnerships
- Engage with rural communities to support sanitation and hygiene, aligned with the goals of Swachh Bharat Mission
- Build international tie-ups for sustainable development research, working with universities, and research institutions across domains including solid waste management solutions, clean energy research, and carbon footprint reduction research in India
- Empower students to act as sustainability advocates in their professional and personal lives, equipped with critical awareness, practical tools, and a values-driven approach

Student Engagement and Events
Through continuous sustainability awareness activities for students, ACS ensures that students not only learn, but participate. Key milestones include:
The main objective of the summit was to have deliberations on 3 sustainable development goals (SDG):
- •Quality Education - Equitable and lifelong learning opportunities
- •Life on Land - Protect, Promote, and Restore Terrestrial Eco System
- •Decent work and economic growth
The outcomes of the summit will be a better understanding, appreciation and make recommendations towards achievement of the UN SDGs and make the world a better place to live.
The Summit concluded by the launch of the Global Economic Forum brochure of Bali summit to be held on Jan 26th, 2023 by all the delegates of SUNFO and AIMS management.
These initiatives allow students to experience the arc from classroom awareness to field action, strengthening their confidence as future leaders of sustainable change.
Why It Matters
At its core, ACS represents a commitment: to help every student AIM for a sustainable future. In an era of climate urgency and social transition, we guide learners to identify environmental challenges, work across disciplines, and co-create research-based sustainability solutions for urban development.
Whether it's through green campus initiatives in Bangalore, or research collaboration for sustainable development in Bangalore, our efforts are focused on one goal: building a better tomorrow by empowering students today.
